If you only have two weeks to visit Italy take it in sections. Do the Northern region first and the Southern region later. Let us plan your ports of arrival and departure carefully. We can save you precious time. You will do less packing and unpacking, less driving and commuting, and enjoy a more relaxed pace. Take two trips in the next three years.
The best way to ensure the success of a trip to Italy is by allowing a least 6 to 8 months for the proper planning. We are experts in helping you select the best times of the year to visit Italy. Italy is full of opportunities not readily available to the common traveler. The rewards of timely planning will translate into a more enjoyable trip.
High season in Italy is May-Mid October. This means crowds and high rates in hotels. If you wish to travel during this time we will need to make reservations well ahead of time for destinations such as Rome, Florence, or Venice.
Italians take their vacations in the month of August generally to the coast. In August (and in July on weekends) you are likely to find Rome, Florence & Venice occupied only by tourists. You will secure better hotel rates, however, it may feel a bit strange to have little contact with Italians.
The best time to enjoy cool weather and quiet towns is March-April (avoid Easter Week) and late October-November. Most towns will be less crowded and weather will be milder, especially in the southern part of Italy. January-March is winter but no crowds!
